Why Trump Won?- Mumbaikar

Everyone said otherwise and yet against all odds Trump, Donald Trump the republican candidate for the US Presidency elections has one. The racist self- entitled white bully with the mind the size of an ant won. The initial reactions varied from depression to disbelief. The number of anti trumppasants bought rose 200 percent within a day of the announcement of results. So, that made me wonder how exactly did the guy who was the international hate star for the last year won.

The Bus Ride - Mumbaikar

Bag Heavy, Arms tired, Umbrella open and half of you wet.

These words are sufficient to describe the condition of an average Mumbaikar when they come to the bus stop. What followed is a daily routine of stepping ahead and ahead to see the number of the big red noisy bus coming towards the stop, hoping that it is yours and empty. Despite the daily experience, you wish it empty and just like thousand of other wishes of an average Mumbaikar this one also goes in the trash. The bus is crowded and full, people are swinging outside. The bus comes near the stop and you somehow try to gauge the speed of the bus and the point where it will stop and then rush ahead to grab the handlebars first. You fail, determined you push through the crowd around and somehow grab onto a part of the bus just as that ting ting rings.

Theist and Atheist to an Agnostic- Mumbaikar

The following article has been written by Ritu Jagwani, who happens to a great reader and an agnostic. She provides with an interesting view of things over agnosticism and explains it is neither and the only logical religion to follow in modern times. She explains how agnosticism is different from both theism and atheism.

Either Heads or Tails , or none of them…

There are no degrees of Logic.A position is either logically approved or it is not. Both Theism and Atheism lies in between, the claims presented by both of them (exceptions!),none are to be absolutely 100 percent certain.
the article describes what exactly does it mean to be an agnostic and how it is different from atheism and theism

Why We Should Not Ban Chinese Goods- Mumbaikar

Recently there has been a huge upsurge about banning goods from China. This upsurge has been the result of indirect Chinese support to the misadventures of Pakistan. The infiltration bid to enhance its claim on Kashmir by disturbing the shaky peace by Pakistan and its subsequent support by China has led to a social protest in form of a ban on Chinese goods. Though the idea of alienating China and to oppose it is correct but I by all dimensions refuse except banning Chinese goods as the way to do so. Now, there are two reasons for this, the first one being principle based and the second one based on facts.

Beyond The Physical Ironies: Parallel Ironies Part 3- Mumbaikar

This is part 3 of Parallel Ironies and includes Clarissa Dlima's take on the issue at hand. Clarissa is herself a newly mumbaikar and without doubt one of the nicest persons you will ever come to know. Well, one thing is certain is she has a very peculiar way of thinking. So here goes

Being away from home for nearly a decade and missing Mumbai, I have long been a self-declared Mumbai lover (and Yes! Non-Mumbaikars can be Mumbai lovers too) but now seeing the apathy amongst people I seriously doubt is this the same Mumbai I have always had in my heart? Perhaps the one I did was a little more idealistic. But what is it that makes a person like Mumbai? Is it really the ever crowded streets clouded with the smoke and dust? Or is it the lovely free massage the local train give you? Probably it must be the roller coaster feeling the roads give you in monsoon?
OK, now please don’t scream that “NO” out… you know the noise levels in the city are already at a good mark.
Can it be the comforts and the great night outs the city offers? If this were the case one would find it hard to pull through the long day in anticipation of some relaxation. However the one who truly likes Mumbai will be able to equally appreciate the noisy days and the snugness of the nights.
So what really is it in Mumbai that lures people?
